And so we reach the end of the road for another 30 Days of Stuff, and once again we had a bunch of ideas that didn't make the cut for content this time around, for a multitude of reasons that totally wasn't laziness. Here's another 10 things we could have written, but didn't.
Hey, have you heard the news? Gaming giants Bethesda, famous for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, have picked up the licence to make a Game Of Thrones game! Isn't that great? Well, it would be if it was true, but sadly it's another elaborate hoax to get clickbait traffic. Thanks, Buzzfeed. Anyway, TV shows and movies are no strangers to being turned into games. 90% of the time they're god awful, but sometimes they can be real gems. But in the current Renaissance of TV, there are some candidates that are equally as good as Game Of Thrones that would lend themselves well to the world of gaming. Here are five of the best examples I could come up with today.
In this review, Mike and Darren suit up and make tenuous friendships to tackle The Defenders!
Proverbs are great. They're little ditties of truth wrapped up with good moral fibre. Thing is, society has changed a little since the day of Aesop, Chaucer and your nan. To quote billionaire hypocrite Bob Geldof, 'the times, they are a-changin'. So lets get some of the English languages most well-known phrases bang up to date!
Video games are notorious for announcing themselves to the world and then disappearing into the aether, or in some occasions are hinted at by developers or speculated on by fans and become a part of the cultural zeitgeist. The poster boy for 'games you will never play' is of course Half Life 3/Half Life 2: Episode 3 (Delete as appropriate, they're basically the same thing anyway and you will never play it). But today's shocking blog post from HL3/HL2:E3's ex-lead writer Marc Laidlaw essentially tells an in-character story of the events that would bring the Half Life franchise to a close. At this point, it's essentially fan fiction, but this level of depth coming from the lead writer of the now-assumed dead game has lit the flames of interest in the meme-ified not-game once again.
But it's not the only game you may never play, there are tons more! Here are 5 of them:
8-Bittersweet - #1 Interactive Drama Games and Planet Of The Apes: Last Frontier (30 Days of Stuff)
In this debate, Mike and Darren discuss the validity of interactive drama games in the current gaming world, in wake of the recently announced Planet Of The Apes: Last Frontier game!
Facebook is a huge part of everyone's life in the modern world. Possibly because it's the most efficient way to judge a huge number of people without having to leave your bed. Oddly enough that is how Jary spends his Saturdays. There seems to have been a public backlash against Facebook in recent times though. No matter who you speak to they all seem to say, I hate Facebook. Here's why.
In this review, Mike and Darren monkey around but in a really morose and thought provoking way to review War For The Planet Of The Apes!
I Am Broken: 5 Things I'd Rather Be Doing Than Writing This Article (30 Days of Stuff)
I'm not going to lie to you: I am tired of writing. Not in a passive aggressive way, I still love this website and the work I do, but today I am feeling serious burnout. When I talk about cult movies, speculate about superheroes or yell at a cloud because I think something sucks, its because I care about what I'm writing about. And today, I could have shat out a crap topical read about the Solar Eclipse, or football or whatever, but I'm not one to churn out stuff I don't care about, even in 30 Days of Stuff.
So today, I'm just gonna write about stuff I'd rather be doing that writing about stuff. Does that make sense? No. Will it keep me sane? Yes.
How To Make Robocop 3 Look Like A Masterpiece: A 'Dark Tower' Review (30 Days of Stuff)
I'm not one for movie reviews. I haven't watched a Hollywood blockbuster in years because they either have too much or too little nudity for me to bother. However, when I found out that The Dark Tower was finally being adapted to screen, I knew this was one movie I'd definitely see at the cinema, or at least pirate.
