Foul E3 - The Good and Bad of Ubisoft's Press Conference

They may be the middle of the show, but are they the middle of the road? Ubisoft have a lot to prove this year at E3. Will they do it?

First off, it's time for the initial reaction:
With that said, it's time to see what the best and worst things Ubi bought to the table this year.

The Good

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Picture
It's a sequel to The Stick of Truth. Matt and Trey are back at the helm. It's a joke about buttholes. Need we say more. We need this game now.

For Honour

Picture
4v4 Dynasty Warriors meets Chivalry meets Assassins Creed. I am wet just saying that. The strange mixed history fighting/ brawler game is going live tomorrow on the show floor, so I can't wait to see more of this game.

Rainbow Six: Siege

I was complaining about the relatively small maps, but the claustrophobic space of Rainbow Six: Siege really showcase how teamwork plays a vital role is taking this game from a slow paced and carefully driven experience to a total anarchic crapshoot. It's that fine line between routine and panic that's put R6:Siege onto the best list.

The Bad

Trials Fusion: Awesome Level Max

Picture
If there was ever a video definition of 'trying to hard', it would have been the announcement trailer for this expansion to the enjoyable Trials Fusion. I have no idea why this needs to be a thing, but the unicorns and triple rainbows and ironic explosions does not in the least bit appeal to me. There is such a thing as being too meta.

The Division

I'm calling it now:This game will suck. I've seen enough now, I know it will suck. This game has not evolved in the three years that we have seen it at E3 and it will feel like playing a rushed, 3-year old game. It will suck. Ubisoft have a tendency to let good ideas sit and stagnate for a while and The Division has been another victim of this practice. It's old hat and it hasn't even come out. So very done.
